Privacy Policy — Daylist
Last updated: 10 September 2026
Daylist (“the app”) is a daily planner for Android, published by Vector Wise (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the app handles.
Short version: your tasks never leave your device. The app has no account, no server of ours, and no analytics. The only third party involved is Google, which serves an optional ad you can choose to watch.
1. Data you create in the app
Your tasks, schedules, reminder settings, completion history and app preferences are stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage. We cannot see this data and it is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
It leaves your device only if you choose to use the Export feature in Settings, which writes a file to a location you pick. What happens to that file afterwards is up to you.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of this data.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows one kind of ad: an optional “rewarded” ad that you can choose to watch to unlock a widget theme. There are no banner ads and no full-screen ads that interrupt you. Until the first time you tap “watch an ad”, the Google Mobile Ads SDK is not started, no ad is requested, and no advertising identifier is accessed.
The first time you choose to watch one, the app starts Google’s Mobile Ads SDK and (where required in your region) shows a consent form. From that point on, while the app is installed, the SDK may collect and process:
- a device advertising identifier (Advertising ID);
- your IP address (from which approximate location may be derived);
- device and app information (device model, OS version, app version);
- ad interaction data (that an ad was shown, watched or completed).
Google uses this to serve and measure the ad and to limit how often ads are shown. Depending on your region and settings, ads may be personalised. In regions where consent is required, the app shows a consent form before any ad is requested. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, and opt out of personalised ads, in your device settings under Settings → Google → Ads.
Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
3. Permissions the app requests
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Notifications | To show task reminders and the optional “today’s plan” summary. |
| Schedule exact alarms | So reminders and alarms fire at the exact minute you set. |
| Full-screen intent | So an “alarm”-style reminder can show over the lock screen. |
| Run at startup | To re-schedule your reminders after the phone reboots. |
| Vibrate | Reminder vibration. |
| Internet / network state | Only used to load a rewarded ad when you ask to watch one. |
The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage-wide access, or your account.
4. Data we sell or share
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone. The only data processing by a third party is the AdMob flow described in section 2, and only when you choose to watch an ad.
5. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
6. Your choices
- Never tap “watch an ad” → the ads SDK never starts and no ad data is collected.
- Reset or limit your Advertising ID in device settings.
- Export or delete your data at any time from within the app.
- Uninstall the app to erase everything it stored.
7. Changes
If this policy changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, note it in the app’s release notes.
